Tales from Sea to Sky hosts & services

Experienced locals

We only hire local, highly experienced hosts and guides for our tours. By choosing our services when you visit our region, you are supporting the sustainability of our local community and helping to promote local guides and businesses.

All of our guides are required to complete our specially designed training courses before they can lead tours. This commitment ensures that we provide excellent service on every tour, no matter which guide is with the guests. Each guide has their own unique approach to connect with visitors, allowing us to deliver the best possible experience while sharing our stories in the Sea to Sky way.

Our local guides provide valuable insights into our daily lives and history. Occasionally, we greet guests as hosts in our national costumes or dress appropriately for specific tours to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

It is essential for us to meet our guests with smiles and enthusiasm for adventure. We hope that those who join our tours return to their ship with smiles on their faces, minds enriched with new knowledge, and hearts filled with happy memories.

We will try our best to be authentic and we want to share happy moments for curious minded people of all ages from all over the world.

If you decide to book our guides we highly recommend that the taste treats and food for the tour should be included, as they are specially selected to enhance your overall experience on our tours.

All of our guides are members of the local guide association, Helgeland Guideforening, which was established by Trine in the autumn of 2024. This association follow the guidelines from Norges Guideforbund.

And YES - we do tell tales from Sea to Sky!

Shore execution with Dispatch service

We can manage and organize most cruise ship visits, and for larger vessels we work closely with Brønnøy Harbour and other professional companies in the region when needed.

Our dispatch service includes coordinating the send-off and return of tours. Additionally, we help all guests with any questions at the pier if no other information services are available that day. We assist wherever possible and aim to make sure all your guests have a pleasant stay in Brønnøysund.

We can also arrange shuttle buses and supply shuttle bus assistants to welcome guests upon their arrival in town.

Safety and staff

All our guides have completed updated first aid courses, and we carry a first aid kit on all tours. Our younger assistants are helping out and learning to become official guides in the future. Additionally, we have a volunteer program that invites locals to join our team, promoting inclusion for workers from all segments of society, regardless of age or ability.

THE NORDLANDS BUNAD

Jill and Trine wear the Nordlands Bunad, which represents the Helgeland region in Nordland county. This bunad was first introduced in 1928, following a gathering of women from the Helgeland region who shared ideas and suggestions for its creation. It is made from wool, and the brooches and earrings were crafted by a jeweler from Rørvik. Although it originated as a bunad specific to Helgeland, it can also symbolizes both Nordland county and Northern Norway, as it was the first bunad from the northern part of Norway.

The Norwegian Bunad was on the 5th of December 2024, inscribed on UNESCO's representative list of intangible cultural heritage!
